Spiritual Retreats

The heart and soul of Zarephath Ministries is to provide free 5-day spiritual retreats for pastors and spouses. The funding is secured through independent donors. Retreats are held at Collins Lodge, an executive style lodge operated by Forest Home Ministries in Southern California. Collins Lodge is set in peaceful surroundings to allow plenty of opportunities to be still, and offers an ambiance that is conducive to time alone with God.

October 15-20, 2017 This retreat is full. We are only accepting 'waitlist' registrations.

See the "Register for a Retreat" page for more details.

_______________________________________________________________
Progress in the Christian life is exactly equal to the growing knowledge we gain of the Triune God in personal experience. And such experience requires a whole life devoted to it and plenty of time spent at the holy task of cultivating God. God can be known satisfactorily only as we devote time to Him.

How does this retreat work?

These retreats are self-directed spiritual retreats. The time is your own. There are no seminars or speakers. It is between you and God as to how you spend this time. Our desire is to give pastors and spouses a gift of extended time apart from interruptions and schedules

The 5-day spiritual retreat begins on Sunday evening and concludes Friday morning. Guests arrive around 5:00 PM on Sunday. Dinner is provided Sunday evening. Check out is 9-10 AM on Friday after breakfast is served. Retreat size is limited to a maximum of 5 couples.

Continental breakfast is provided each morning at your leisure. Lunch is served at 12:30 pm. Monday through Thursday at 5:30 pm appetizers will be served. Dinner is served at 6:00 pm. All guests are asked to attend the 5:30 appetizers and the 6:00 dinner.
Other than th
is dinner time, the time is your own to do with as you and God desire. ZM does provide some suggested retreat formats for you to follow if you choose. Each room is provided with a selection of books, CDs, and DVDs for your enrichment. We have a couple of small DVD players for your use. There is no TV, no internet access, and cell phone service is spotty.

Is it really free?

Yes! Donors who believe in pastors and appreciate their good work have graciously and often sacrificially given so that pastor
s and spouses can enjoy this time alone with God. There is no cost for the pastor. Sending churches and attending pastors are welcome to contribute to ZM if they choose, but that is between them and God.

Who can come to these retreats?

Any full-time pastor involved in local church ministry who agrees to ZM's basic Statement of Faith may attend the retreat (if married, his or her spouse is encouraged and welcome to attend also! But due to the nature of these retreats, children and infants cannot be accommodated.). Fill out the Registration Form and
submit it to ZM. You will be notified of your acceptance in plenty of time to make arrangements.

Travel to and from the retreat site is your own responsibility. Only one staff pastor from any given church may attend at the same time. We also ask that pastors wait at least three (3) years before signing up for another retreat. If you are not sure if you meet the criteria, email us!

What else do I need to know?

Retreats are held in Collins Lodge, a gorgeous rustic lodge restored to its original splendor. Rooms are individually decorated and are B & B style. Each room has its own private bath and all linens and towels are provided. All meals are provided.  There is a large open Great-Room with lodge style seating. There are hiking trails available for your use. There are outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the mountains, the river, or the sunset.
